The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Civil Defence, Corrections, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) have been commended for ensuring the swift and unprecedented promotion of officers in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other agencies under the ministry.
The Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Adedotun Keshinro, also expressed appreciation to the Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi for ensuring an end to the backlog of promotions within the NSCDC.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, of the State Command, SC Oluwaseun Abolurin on Thursday.
Keshinro, who officially decorated the officers promoted in the 2025 promotion year on Thursday, 22nd January, 2026 during a colourful ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja, charged them to continue to fly the flag of the Corps very high wherever they find themselves in service.
Addressing the promotees during the decoration ceremony, the State Commandant urged them to be more professional and to uphold unwavering integrity and discipline in the discharge of their duties and any given tasks.
A breakdown of the 2025 senior officers’ promotion in the state showed that six Assistant Commandants of Corps (ACC) were elevated to the rank of Deputy Commandants of Corps (DCC); 22 Chief Superintendents of Corps (CSC) were promoted to Assistant Commandants of Corps (ACC), while 14 Superintendents of Corps (SC) advanced to Chief Superintendents of Corps (CSC).
Also, 26 Deputy Superintendents of Corps (DSC) rose to the rank of Superintendents of Corps (SC); 34 Assistant Superintendents of Corps I (ASCI) were promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Corps (DSC); 58 Assistant Superintendents of Corps II (ASCII) were elevated to Assistant Superintendents of Corps I (ASC I); while 10 Inspectors and 16 Chief Corps Assistants were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendents of Corps II (ASC II).
In all, a total of two hundred senior officers were promoted in the Lagos State Command.
Others included 11 Chief Corps Assistants (CCA) and three Assistant Inspectors of Corps who were elevated to the rank of Inspector, while other junior cadre officers also moved to their new ranks accordingly.
