The Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs for Zone A, ACG Mohammed Babandede, has urged officers of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to embrace discipline to improve efficiency and service delivery.

ACG Babandede gave the charge during a visit to the KLT Command on Wednesday, February 4, 2025.

While addressing the officers, he emphasised the importance of discipline, dedication, integrity, and teamwork in performing their duties. He encouraged them to remain vigilant, adapt to evolving trade and border management challenges, follow procedures diligently, and promote innovation and accountability in all operations.

The ACG reviewed revenue operations, enforcement activities, and stakeholder engagement. He also observed daily operations and provided guidance on enhancing performance and service delivery.

In his remarks, the Acting Customs Area Controller of the KLT Command, Deputy Comptroller Bolaji Adigun, welcomed ACG Babandede and his team and expressed gratitude for the visit.

DC Adigun described the visit as timely, motivating, and a defining moment for the Command. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to revenue generation, enforcement, and trade facilitation, pledging to align all activities with the broader vision of the Service.

Adigun acknowledged that the ACG’s advice and observations would help sharpen operational focus and improve service standards.

He further assured that the Command would continue to enhance its operations, support the objectives of the Nigeria Customs Service, safeguard the national economy, and facilitate legitimate trade.
