The Presidency has confirmed that Buhari will sign the 2022 Appropriation Bill on Friday. Point News247 reports that Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, confirmed this on Tuesday in Abuja. Shehu stated that the 2022 budget has been transmitted by the National Assembly and the President will sign the bill into law by 10am. This comes barely a week after lawmakers in the National Assembly passed a budget of N17.126 trillion, increasing the benchmark price of crude from $57 to $62 per barrel.
Point News247 reports that the younger brother of Diego Maradona, Hugo Maradona, has died. He was aged 52 years. Hugo was also a former soccer player. Italian club Ascoli said he died Tuesday at his home in Monte di Procida, near Naples, of cardiac arrest. The younger Maradona was purchased by Napoli in 1987 on Diego’s urging and loaned to Ascoli. He also played for Rayo Vallecano, Rapid Vienna and several other clubs around the world. He lived in the Naples area. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has insisted in an open letter to Niger Delta elder, Chief Edwin Clark, that the oil found in the Niger Delta region belongs to Nigeria constitutionally. Hunters in Kaduna State have stormed a kidnappers den in Udawa-Birnin Gwari forests and rescued nine persons earlier kidnapped in a convoy.
