The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) successfully defended their title as champions of the Ships & Ports Maritime Cup after defeating Nigeria Customs Service in the final match of the 2023 edition of the tournament. NPA was a goal down at the first half of the highly contested final duel, powerfully equalized in the second half. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it has received a report of forged election result sheets in Kogi State, adding that it is investigating the fake results in circulation in the state. Armed thugs have invaded polling units in the southern Ijaw and Sagbama local government areas of Bayelsa State, hijacking election materials and disrupting voting. The thugs first struck at Agorogbene units 6, 7, and 8 in Ward 11 of Southern Ijaw, where they destroyed election materials and fired gunshots at voters who attempted to challenge them.They also stormed the Registration Area Center and carted away election materials from five out of the seven polling units.
