The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh has withdrawn from the Kaduna governorship race
.
According to a post by his Media Team led by Saminu Madaki, the reason for withdrawing from the race was personal.
Part of the statement reads, “Today the 15th May, 2022 our principal Dr. Bashir Jamoh held a meeting with his campaign council and other top officials in the movement. Then he officially announced that he personally stepped down for the Governorship race in Kaduna state due to some personal reasons which is for his own good and the entire people of Kaduna state”.
The NIMASA DG called on his supporters to continue to be law abiding and thanked them for their prayers and efforts right from the time he expressed interest to contest for the Governorship of Kaduna State and today that he stepped down from the race for his own good and for the good of Kaduna people.
The DG promised to “carry people along and also continue with all the co-operate social responsibility he has started to help the good people of Kaduna state.
Jamoh had announced his Kaduna governorship interest early this year.
He was reported to have purchased the form for the governorship before his latest withdrawal.
