The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has strengthened its partnership with relevant security and regulatory agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) within its area of responsibility.

The renewed partnership followed a series of courtesy visits by the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Moses Adewole, to the agencies in Oyo State between February 17 and 19, 2026.

The visits were aimed at reinforcing existing partnerships and enhancing synergy in the areas of intelligence sharing, joint operations, and national security.

DC Adewole and his management team were received by the State Director, Mr. Rahim Adelakun, during their visit to the DSS Oyo State Command in Ibadan on Tuesday.

He expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the DSS for its vital role in safeguarding lives, property, and national security.

The Acting CAC emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration between the two agencies.

In his response, Mr. Adelakun appreciated the visit and acknowledged the NCS as a critical institution in Nigeria’s economic development and border protection.

He assured DC Adewole of the DSS’s continued support through effective intelligence sharing, joint operations, and capacity-building initiatives.

During the visit to the NDLEA Oyo State Command on Wednesday, the Acting CAC was received by the State Commander, Commander Oluwarotimi Lawal, and his management team.

Commander Lawal commended the Service for its strategic role in curbing illicit trafficking and assured the Command of the NDLEA’s maximum cooperation.

DC Adewole, in his remarks, appreciated the NDLEA for its partnership and reiterated his commitment to strengthening the existing relationship.

He also visited the NAFDAC Southwest Zonal Office in Ibadan on Thursday, where he was received by the Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Isaac Anjorin Kolawole.

Adewole affirmed NAFDAC’s critical role in regulating food and drug safety and reiterated the Command’s commitment to continued collaboration in protecting public health and national interest.

In his response, Dr. Kolawole commended Customs for its contributions to revenue generation, anti-smuggling operations, and border security.

He assured the Acting CAC of NAFDAC’s sustained cooperation and stressed the importance of inter-agency synergy in achieving effective service delivery and national development.

The visits highlight the commitment of the Oyo/Osun Area Command to fostering stronger partnerships with sister agencies in order to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen national security, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the country.
