The Chairman of the Delta State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Paul Oweh, and APC leader in Isoko South Local Government Area, High Chief Lucky Esigie, have endorsed the re‑election of the member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency, Rep. Pst. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, ahead of the 2027 general elections. The endorsements came during separate consultative meetings held in Oleh and Olomoro, where both leaders publicly pledged their support for his second‑term bid.
Speaking at the meetings, Ukodhiko said he is seeking re‑election to consolidate his achievements and complete ongoing projects. He disclosed that he has sponsored about 12 bills, which are at various stages in the House of Representatives, as well as two motions, while over ₦1.3 billion has been invested in constituency projects and empowerment programmes. He added that more than ₦4 billion worth of additional projects and empowerment initiatives are captured in the 2025 budget and await funding for execution.
The lawmaker highlighted interventions in education, agriculture, electricity supply, and healthcare, including a scholarship scheme that supports 10 students pursuing professional courses at Madonna University. Despite funding challenges, he noted that key projects such as erosion control, water rehabilitation, electricity upgrades, medical outreach programmes, and skill acquisition initiatives have been delivered in the constituency.
Ukodhiko also revealed that he supplements his official earnings with personal resources to support constituents’ welfare, underscoring his commitment to grassroots engagement. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his economic reforms and praised Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his leadership, while urging party members to remain united ahead of the 2027 polls.
He assured that if re‑elected, his focus would be on completing existing projects and ensuring that new ones are properly implemented. He further stated that he has no intention of seeking a third term, framing his second term as an opportunity to finish the job he started.
Dr. Paul Oweh and High Chief Lucky Esigie both reaffirmed their backing for Ukodhiko’s re‑election, citing his performance, accessibility, and responsiveness to the people. They offered prayers for his success and called on stakeholders to remain united within the APC as the constituency prepares for the 2027 general elections. Their endorsements signal a broadening consensus that Ukodhiko’s first term has laid a solid foundation for deeper development, provided he is given the mandate to complete his agenda.
