Point News247 reports that the Police have arrested a journalist at the Lekki tollgate, Lagos State, South West Nigeria.

Information reaching us indicates that the reporter works with Legit News. He was streaming live from the Toll gate and when he was asked for his ID card, he couldn’t provide one. He is currently being detained in one of the Police Vans at the Toll gate.”

Recall that the Police had issued a warning against protests and gatherings to mark the one year anniversary of the EndSARS movement, saying that Lagos State could not afford a repeat of the destruction brought about by hoodlums who hijacked the protests of last year.

Lekki tollgate was the epicentre of the #EndSARS protests of October 2020, which were against police brutality and bad governance.

The location had youths airing their grievances day and night until they were dispersed by soldiers of the Nigerian Army on October 20.
