The President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Chief Tonobok Okowa and Nigerians across the globe have been congratulating Nigeria’s hurdles queen, Oluwatobi Amusan, for her feat winning 100mH silver medal in the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan. The current world record (12:12s) holder, Amusan, placed second in the final of the women’s 100metres hurdles in 12.29secs behind a familiar opponent, Ditaji Kambundji of Switzerland who won in 12.24secs. The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has cleared the air on the ongoing debate surrounding the Olomoro–Igbide Road, following reports suggesting that the project was a Federal Government intervention under the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). The Chairman and Chief Executive of Green White Green Sports Center limited (GWG), Hon. Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, has suspended all sporting activities under his sponsorship in Gombe State, effective immediately.
