Point News247 reports that Adetoun Adediran, the first female Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, is dead. Adetoun died in the early hours of Wednesday after a brief illness. She served as the Deputy Speaker between 1999 and 2003. Since Adetoun left office as the speaker, she has held many political offices including being the Women Leader of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The clearance was contained in a Legal Advice of the Director of Public Prosecution, Lagos State, Ms. Adetutu Oshinusi. The Okpella community in the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, has rejected plans by the State Government to relocate the proposed airport from the area.
