The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has announced the conferment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Security and Strategic Studies on its Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu PhD. The academic honour was awarded during Nasarawa State University’s 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony held on Saturday, 11 April 2026, in recognition of Dr. Odumosu’s outstanding contributions to knowledge in security administration, strategic leadership, and national development.

The convocation ceremony celebrated his rigorous research and scholarly work, which aligns closely with the practical demands of modern security management. The FCT Command noted that Dr. Odumosu’s academic achievement reflects his firm commitment to intellectual advancement and professional excellence, and will further strengthen policy development, operational effectiveness, and the design of internal security frameworks in Nigeria.

As Commandant of the FCT Command, Dr. Odumosu has led the Corps’ efforts in fostering inter‑agency synergy, enhancing the protection of critical infrastructure, and driving community‑based security initiatives across the Federal Capital Territory. His pursuit of advanced study is being promoted within the Command as a model of continuous learning and capacity building in the face of evolving security threats.

The NSCDC FCT Command extends warm congratulations to Dr. Odumosu on this milestone and expressed confidence that his new academic qualification will deepen his impact on the Corps and the broader national security landscape. The Command also commended Nasarawa State University for its role in promoting scholarship and recognising excellence in the field of Security and Strategic Studies.
