The Lagos State Police Command has reiterated its zero tolerance for crimes and criminality with a recent arrest of traffic robbers in the State.
Its operarives attached to Ketu Division arrested 9 suspected traffic robbers on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at about 8pm along Y-Junction, by Old Tollgate, Ketu, Lagos State.
The police public relations officer,
CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi who made this known in a press release, stated that, the suspects had attacked one Mr Adejare Adetayo and wife in the traffic at the area, when police detectives on undercover operation along the area went after the hoodlums and arrested nine with their operational weapons.
The suspected traffic robbers according to the PPRO, are Oluseyi Afolabi ‘M’ 19years, Adeyemo Ayomide ‘M’ 18years, Fransis Latifa 19years, Rilwan Raji 23years, Ayomide Oyediran 20years, Rasheed Ibrahim 22years, Hamzat Abdullahi 19years, Musa Gbadamosi 20years and Seun Lasisi 32years.
The police PRO also stated that, two long knives and other dangerous weapons were recovered from them.
Ohis part, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, while commending the police operarives for the successful operation and arrest of the hoodlums, reassured Lagosians of adequate security and public safety within the length and breadth of the state.
He however directed that the suspects be transferred to State CID, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.
In the spirit of the season, CP Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu felicitated with Lagosians, officers and men of the command including stakeholders in the security sector and sister security agencies on the new year celebration.
He also admonished Lagosians to embrace peace and obey all laws of the land saying, the police and other security agencies in the state are ever ready to discharge their duties effectively.
