Police have released Sylvester Oromoni Jnr’s body to his family after autopsy.
Point News247 reports that the Lagos State Police Command says it has released the corpse of the 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Sylvester Oromoni Jnr to his family for burial.
The Command’s Spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu disclosed this in a terse statement sent to TheCable Lifestyle on Friday.
Ajisebutu stated that the student’s corpse was released to his family after an autopsy was conducted on him to ascertain the cause of his death.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer said the result of the autopsy conducted has not been released.
He wrote: “Sylvester Oromoni: autopsy done. Result is being awaited. Corpse released to family for burial. Investigation ongoing.”
News outlets, including Point News247 had reported the death of Oromoni a few weeks ago after he was allegedly attacked by some senior students on his refusal to join a cult group.
His father during several interviews said his child was beaten and fed with liquid substance.
The school, however, denied this, claiming that he only sustained injuries while playing football with his colleagues.

The Lagos state government had later ordered the indefinite closure of the school while launching an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, his parents have employed the services of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana as the lawyer for the case against Dowen College.
