Nigerians Urged To Obtain PVCs Ahead Of 2027 Elections

The Obidient Movement has issued a press statement calling on all eligible Nigerians (18 years and above) who have not collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The movement stressed that the CVR window will end on Friday, July 10, 2026, describing it as the last opportunity for citizens to secure their PVCs before the 2027 General Elections.

The statement, signed by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, framed voter registration and participation as both a constitutional right and a civic duty. It argued that active involvement in the electoral process is essential to achieving good governance, ending corruption, insecurity, unemployment, and poverty, with PVCs positioned as the gateway to harnessing Nigeria’s untapped potential.

The movement urged civil society organisations, the media, religious institutions, private and public sector bodies, traders, community leaders, and families to mobilise Nigerians to register and participate in voting. It warned that voter apathy encourages poor leadership and undermines democratic progress.

For those who need to replace lost PVCs, change polling units, or correct their data, the statement directed Nigerians to use the CVR online portal at *https://cvr.inecnigeria.org* or visit the nearest INEC office (State or Local Government Area) between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. It also announced that from Thursday, July 23, to Wednesday, July 29, 2026, INEC will display the voter register for public scrutiny and correction of anomalies.

The Obidient Movement charged Nigerians to “register to vote, vote, and defend our mandate,” reiterating that “a registered voter with a PVC today is a powerful voice for change tomorrow” and that “a New Nigeria is possible.”
