The leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife have been discharged and acquitted of charges levelled against them by the Kaduna State government. The duo were freed on Wednesday by theKaduna State High Court on the charges of culpable homicide, disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly in Kaduna State. Justice Gideon Urada upheld a no-case submission filed by Zakzaky’s counsel, Femi Falana, saying that the witnesses presented by the prosecution counsel had been unable to establish any comnncection between the charges and El-Zakzaky.
