In An Exclusive Interview, Hon. Elder Godwin Ogurugba, Executive Chairman Isoko North Local Government Council revealed the administration’s comprehensive development plans for the year.
Speaking exclusively with your authoritative online Media channel PointNews247.com, Ogurugba began by wishing everyone a happy new year, expressing his commitment to presenting the local government’s budget to the legislature for approval.
He highlighted several ongoing and upcoming projects, including:
Construction of Model new Secretariat
A new secretariat is being built to provide a modern and efficient workspace for local government officials.
On Infrastructure Development, The local government has completed 16 open market shops at Otor-owhe ,15 lock-up shops at Ofagbe, with new market shops also built in Isoko North community Landscaping projects are underway to enhance the area’s aesthetic appeal.
On healthcare, Contracts have been advertised for the construction of new health centres, aiming to improve healthcare services for residen,ts as.well.as Staff Quarters and Market Renovation.
New staff quarters are being built for managers, staff, V.p. chairman, and nurses, HPM, while markets in the area are undergoing renovation.
On Youth Empowerment, the local government is implementing youth empowerment programme by March/April to provide opportunities for young people and to ensure they are not left behind.
On Agriculture, Plans are underway to plant watermelon and cucumber, with efforts to establish perimeter fencing and modern gates to secure the area.
Ogurugba also emphasized the local government’s commitment to following the “Sheriff More Agenda,” inspired by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership style.
He expressed hope that his tenure would be remembered for its positive impact on the community.
